From Thomas: I had a great time presenting the early findings of my research on sonars at the Environmental Interactions of Marine Renewables Conference #EIMR2026 in Oban in May.

I was also really pleasantly surprised to win the best student poster for my poster on potential UAV ornithology surveys at the MeyGen tidal array.

It was great to meet so many interesting researchers and industry and policy leaders working in such an important field.

I would like to offer a massive thank you to all my supervisors and those who helped with my presentation and poster, and the amazing team at the Scottish Association For Marine Science for hosting such a brilliant conference!
